What’s in My J. Crew Cart?

With the announcement that my beloved J. Crew is filing for bankruptcy, I mourned for a while… and then decided to check their site for sales. And boy, did I find some! 60% off summery staples and an extra 30% off regular sale items! While I won’t be buying everything in my cart considering the exorbitant total, I thought a great way to jump back into blogging would be to share them!

Kids’ Section Steals

Here are some of my crewcuts faves! If you can fit into children’s clothing like me, some of the styles are just cute for much less.

Girls’ ruffle pull-on shorts in stripes $36.50 $16.50

Girls’ ruffle-sleeve dress in Liberty® Wiltshire print $98 $49

If I order one thing from this post, it’s this perfectly pink dress. Liberty London is one of my favorite British ateliers; their detailed patterns are so whimsical and bright. I was so excited when I found out they brought their J. Crew collaboration to the U.S. This dress also has an adult counterpart in the form of an A-line tiered dress with a gathered collar. Both dresses are made with responsibly grown cotton as part of the brand’s membership in the Better Cotton Initiative. I have a few J. Crew x Liberty scrunchies, and the wild patterns act as a fun accessory with an otherwise neutral look or an add-on to an already colorful get-up. One of my scrunchies is Wiltshire print, so I already have an outfit planned!

Girls’ ruffle-sleeve striped dress with rickrack $59.50 $36

Rickrack is so cute, especially combined with this seersucker-like pattern. Some may think it’s out of style and childish, but I say vintage and youthful! I can see this dress on Memorial Day, Fourth of July, or any other summer day. I typically order a size 14 in crewcuts clothing, it fits similar to a women’s extra small.

Girls’ Montauk crewneck sweatshirt $49.50 $19.50

I love the coastal feel and shaggy lettering of this pullover. I’ve never been to Montauk, but I can pretend when I wear this sweatshirt. Like in Newport, Montauk is home to a Gurney’s Resort. Maybe I should make it my mission to stay at each? Speaking it into existence!

Dresses and Jumpsuits and T-Shirts, Oh My!

Cotton poplin tunic dress with farmer’s market embroidery $138 $98

Farmer’s market embroidery is right, that’s where I’d wear this! The only downside is it’s not offered in petite sizes, and ordering long dresses online can be a gamble for those of us who are asked “how did you like 6th grade this year?” when in fact we are going to be a junior in college. (We is me. All. the. time.)

V- neck wide leg jumpsuit in stripe $128 $51

Again, this one could be a difficult piece to pull off for someone short. The v-neck is a nip-slip waiting to happen, and I think I’d be swimming in those pants! If it was offered in a petite size or had adjustable straps I would definitely buy it. The pattern is classically preppy and the tie-front is a great little accent!

Petite embroidered midi dress in cotton voile $158 $63

Finally! A petite dress! This dress gives me major Lily-James-in-Mamma-Mia-2 vibes. You know the “Name of the Game” scene where she’s frolicking among the fruit trees in slow motion? That energy, before she’s accosted by a grumpy goat. Do I have any fruit trees near me? No. Do I have the ability to move to Greece on a whim? No. So I guess this flowy, ruffly number will have to do.

Tie-front wide-leg jumpsuit in floral print $118 $47

Yet another petite piece steps up to the plate, and at 60% off, it’s hard to resist. The adorable tiny flowers on classic navy, the adjustable straps, and POCKETS?! Take me now, J. Crew. Jumpsuits are a favorite of mine, despite not owning any at the moment. I love them for their ability to make getting ready take five minutes (not including skincare, of course, that endless saga is coming up soon!) Are you a jumpsuit fan? Battle it out in the comments!

Vintage cotton lighthouse T-shirt $34.50 $14

For $14, I can’t pass this shirt up. Yellow’s not really my color, but a t-shirt featuring some of the East Coast’s most well-known lighthouses is right up my alley. It has intricate drawings of Nantucket’s Sankaty Head and Brant Point beacons, among others. Have a fan of A24’s The Lighthouse in your life? This tee functions as a quick flex of their cinematic taste without being outright merch. The film’s black-and-white, but your cinephile’s wardrobe doesn’t have to be.

Wide-leg pant in drapey gingham $178 $90

These pants, however, are a black-and-white item I adore. Vintage-inspired + trendy pattern = add to cart for me! Like most other J. Crew petite options, these pants are also offered in Classic and Tall sizes. While 49% off is a great discount, $90 is still steep for a college student such as myself. I’ll wait and see if they’re marked down any further before purchasing. They’re going fast, so if you can afford them right now, please buy them for my sake… I can live vicariously through the killer looks you’ll create.

Dreamy cotton pajama set in stripe $88 $42

Who doesn’t love a good pair of cotton pajamas? Cotton is the only material I feel comfortable sleeping in, and I already own a pair of J. Crew pajamas I love. Only the Classic fit is on sale, so they may be a bit big on me, but that’s part of the fun of pajamas! J. Crew isn’t the most affordable brand, even with extreme sales. If you’re not a fellow Taurus who is passionate about the intersection of sleep and luxury, there’s absolutely no need to break the bank for these.

V-neck Peplum top in rainbow seersucker $79.50 $55

I’m thinking I’ll buy this top to boost my spirits in hopes of a summer spent outside. The rainbow makes me so happy, and seersucker is one of my favorite fabrics. The combination of the two makes for one more trendy yet preppy look from J. Crew. The tiny sleeve cuffs and the flared peplum are just so fun! This cotton top is part of the “Feel Good” sale, and definitely lives up to its name.
